5 Reasons to come to Spooky Storytime

This Saturday, October 29th, for the 5th year in a row Storytime is back to haunt Burnside Park with our partner KidoInfo.  This spooktacular event is fun for all ages, and a family-friendly, not-so-scary event featuring spooky and funny stories and tons of fall fun!

Still on the fence about whether or not you should come?
Here are 5 reasons to help you decide: YES!

  1. Veggie Villians
The theme for this year’s Spooky Storytime and Haunted Art in the Park is Veggie Villians: Eat your Vegetables, Before They Eat You! Local artists Alison Paul and Ricky Katowicz have created characters just for this event including: Scarrot, Mash Brains, Brockenstein and Cornicula.

  2. Guest Artists
Storytime veterans Alison Paul, Jen Corace and Ricky Katowicz join us again this year to read from their own Halloween works and favorite books.  Don’t miss this chance for your kids to meet local authors, illustrators and artists and listen to them read from books such as The Crow: A Not-So-Scary Story and Gibbous Mooney Wants to Bite You.dppc_spookystorytime_readers
  3. Hay Bale Maze
Nothing says fall more than a hay bale maze, and we’ll have a kid sized one set up in the park for kids to explore. Kids can take a mini pumpkin home and we’ll have tasty apples to snack on from our friends at Pezza Farms.dppc_spookystorytime_staff
  4. Ms. Bones
Ms. Bones gets invited into Burnside Park once a year to teach everyone anatomy. Have fun learning about all the bones in the body. She will also direct you to the Spooky Touch + Feel Table. Guess the guts!dppc_spookystorytime_bones
  5. Costume Parade
Kids can show off their costumes in a parade around the park, and all kids in costume will get a special treat. Don’t worry if you don’t have a costume, you can make one there with our craft supplies. AND……we invited some of the creatures from Big Nazo to lead the parade and join us for the dance party. dppc_spookystorytime_costumes

We’ll see you in the park on Saturday, October 29th from 10:30am – 1:30pm. RSVP to our Facebook Event to stay up to date on all the details.
