We are proud to announce that the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) has awarded a 2018 grant to the Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy for our Great Kennedy Plaza Arts & Cultural Programming. This news was received with congratulations from the RISCA panel for all we contribute to our state’s cultural life.
According to our Program Director Jen Smith, “Support from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts is critical to continuing to provide our uniquely accessible, diverse, free public arts & cultural programming. Thanks to this support we can reach over 6,000 children and 15,000+ adults with free, high-quality arts programs such as the eclectic Burnside Music Series and Storytime + Art in the Park, where children can have direct contact and creative opportunities with working authors, artists, and storytellers. We are also proud to hire and collaborate with well over 100 Rhode Island artists each year. We are grateful for the work RISCA does for the arts community in our state, and thankful that the Council sees the value in our work and has supported us with grant funding for over 6 years.”
Congratulations to our entire programming team. Without their hard work we could not put these grants to work and bring these programs to life.
This grant is contingent upon the availability of funds from the General Assembly of Rhode Island and the National Endowment for the Arts.
