Former Rhode Island Chief Justice Frank J. Williams wrote a thoughtful op-ed in the July 21 issue of The Providence Journal in support of the Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy’s Soldiers & Sailors Monument Restoration Project.
Judge Williams writes, “The monument is one of the greatest outdoor sculptures in the state and its historical importance tells much about our shared legacy and Rhode Island’s contribution to the Civil War, as well as our self-esteem.”
