Spooky Storytime + Haunted Art in the Park return to Burnside Park.

On October 28, Storytime returns to haunt Burnside Park with partner Kidoinfo. This spooktacular event is fun for all ages, and a great family-friendly, not-so-scary event featuring spooky and funny stories and tons of fall fun!
Alison Paul, Storytime co-founder and author/illustrator of The Crow: A Not-So-Scary Story will be joined by artist/performer Ricky Katowicz of The Ricky Rainbow Beard Show to read their own Halloween works and spooky favorites. This will also transform the park with Halloween inspired art at Haunted Art in the Park. This year we continue our summer Art in the Park theme, The Wonky World of Roald Dahl, with witchy-themed art inspired by Dahl’s book The Witches. These projects promise to be spooky – but not-so-scary – Halloween fun!

Other fun activities will include the chance for kids to create art inspired by the pages of a Halloween-themed book. Enjoy a Halloween dance party + costume parade, a Hay Bale Maze, mini pumpkins to decorate, and crisp apples to crunch provided by local farmers. Ms. Bones will return for fun identifying bones and our Guess the Guts spooky touch and feel table will be set up for the not so faint of heart.
Trick or Treat your way through our Halloween activity tables. Kids in costumes get a treat! But no costumes, no problem – if you don’t have one, you can make one there! Embellish your costume even more with free face painting by Heidi Born of Ratt Scallion Face Painting. And don’t forget, Brandon’s Beach maritime themed playground is OPEN and a perfect playscape for sailors, sea creatures, and pirates. AHOY!

As always, our events in Burnside Park are for all ages, free, and open to the public.

See you in the park!
