The Winter Lights Market is back to light up downtown Providence for the third year! Join the Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy, Mayor Jorge Elorza and Providence Art Culture Tourism for two days of family-friendly fun that will be sure to get everyone into the holiday spirit.
This year’s Winter Lights Market will take place on Friday, December 6th from 5 – 9pm and Saturday, December 7th from 12 – 9pm, in Burnside Park and East Approach, which will be closed to bus traffic during the event.

Providence Holiday Saxophone Choir, a group dedicated to spreading the holiday spirit by bringing as many saxophonists as possible together to play wintery music. Saxophonists of all levels are welcome to join. A sense of growing community and warmth are our goals and our means is a multitude of saxophones.
Soul Bingo is not your Grandma’s bingo game. Your favorite host Erma-Jean So-Fly will be spinning on the “Bs” and “Os”. Raise those daubers high, wax nostalgic as you watch vintage SoulTrain videos. Don’t get left behind as we show off our flyest dance moves under the shimmer of the disco ball during the Soultrain line- toot toot! DJ Unkle Thirsty will be backing up Erma-Jean spinning Soul Bingo jams + the funkiest holiday tunes
Miss Wensday & The Cotillions sing vintage jazz, music from & inspired by the Jazz Age.
What Cheer? Brigade, Providence’s internationally famous marching band, takes over the park and gets everyone moving.
Ricky Rainbowbeard brings his special flavor of family friendly fun to Winter Lights Market. Be sure to visit him and make a special craft to bring home.
Providence’s Extraordinary Rendition Band is not your average marching band, but one who plays free, guerrilla style and take over the park is pure musical fun.
RI Historical Society will screen short, archival films with scenes from RI’s past on the side of the Imagination Center.
Illuminated public art will be on display throughout the market featuring Prism, an iridescent tapestry which functions as a digital screen, filtering light and combining to form color spectrums, by Pneuhaus. Figuration, an interactive installation illuminating the human body through light and sound, by MASARY Studios will also be on display.
Special family friendly programming includes projection of short films + animations by Providence Children’s Film Festival at the Imagination Center, a Big Nazo parade with new misfit toy robot characters, Playcorps Play Space with Partnership with Providence Parks, Imagination Play Project with artist Linda White and a visit from The Giant Squidstravaganza who will play carols on the keys and share some Squidmas poems. Brandon’s Beach at Burnside Park will be lit up for nighttime fun!
The Winter Lights Market takes place under a heated tent and will feature Eat Drink RI’s artisan & culinary market with: Aura’s Chocolate Bar, Beautiful Day, Beth Bakes, Blackbird Farm, Blount Company Soup, Clover Desserts, DELIcious Deli, Enjoyful Foods, Gerbs Allergy Friendly Foods, GottaQ SmokeHouse BBQ, Incredabowl Food Truck, Kelila’s Designs, Matunuck Oyster Bar, Maxine Baked, Ming’s Asian Street Food, New Harvest Coffee Roasters, Pepper Junction, Pop On The Block, Revival Brewing Company, Rhode Island Organics, The Rustic Gift Basket, Twisted T’s.

Friday, December 6, 2019 @ Bank Newport City Center presents Pride on Ice, featuring a toy drive and a performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 and All Stars Season 3 contestant MILK and skating partner Christopher Erwin.
Saturday, December 7, 2019 @ Bank Newport City Center, featuring an inspiring group of Olympic figure skating medalists hosted by two-time Olympic medalist and sports icon Nancy Kerrigan.
